📖 Overview of Lessons 1–8: Chapter 2 – The Foundation of Spiritual Life
In these first eight lessons on Chapter 2 of the Bhagavad Gītā, the foundation of the entire spiritual path is laid with clarity, depth, and compassion. Arjuna’s collapse becomes a doorway for divine teaching, and Krishna begins to unveil the timeless wisdom of Yoga and Vedānta.
The journey begins with emotional breakdown and evolves toward inner awakening. Through the teachings of Sāṅkhya (the path of knowledge) and Karma Yoga (the path of selfless action), Krishna addresses the true nature of the Self, the causes of suffering, and the method for transcending it.
From the confusion of the ego to the steadiness of the sthita-prajña, these eight lessons guide the seeker step by step—from despair to discernment, from reactivity to wisdom, from craving to inner fulfillment.
🌿 What you will explore in Lessons 1–8:
The necessity of spiritual guidance in moments of inner collapse
The distinction between the eternal Self and the changing personality
The role of suffering in awakening the desire for liberation
The essential teachings of Karma Yoga: action without attachment
How to act in the world without ego or dependence on results
The inner equanimity (samatvam) that defines a true yogi
The sequence of emotional downfall and the loss of inner clarity
How detachment arises naturally through Self-knowledge
The qualities of the sthita-prajña: one who is anchored in the Self
These lessons build a powerful and practical bridge between philosophy and daily life, offering tools to meet life’s challenges with wisdom, clarity, and inner strength. They form the essential preparation for all the remaining teachings of the Gītā.
